A central mountain range located in the northeastern Crowncrests that surrounded the Zarovich Valley, the Balinok Mountains contained the peaks of Mount Baratok and Mount Ghakis. After being overtaken by the Sea of Clouds and eventually transported to the Plane of Shadow, the range was heavily covered by the mists defending Strahd von Zarovich's domain. It boasted inclement weather and was cold enough to be hostile to most forms of life, though Giant Goats, Dire Wolf packs, and other threatening fauna could be found.
