Iomyna Myrdinn

Torchbearer

Iomyna was the heir to the house of Myrdinn, the Common League's most well-respected house. Born in Emblem, she possessed an uncommon charisma, bearing the burden of her family's great legacy with ease and grace; as she grew, she was considered to be the most talented Archmage that her illustrious family had produced since Iodun the UnifierThough not a Theurge and lacking Iodun's divine connection, she more than equaled his intellect and naturally excelled at politicking, navigating the intricate rivalries of the Court of the Torch with skill and poise.

The Heir of Myrdinn's status as a noble, mage, and wisewoman granted her unparalleled influence, including a permanent seat as a Torchbearer of the Court of the Torch. Many nobles of the League viewed her power with unease, believing it disruptive to the League's foundational values. Rumors circulated that she was capable of wielding the Epochal Artifact Cometfall, though under Common law such use could never be tested.

Iomyna’s greatest rival within the Council was Cymbeline Crosse, the Torchbearer of Karthene and descendant of the noble Crosse house. Cymbeline’s relentless scholarship into the origins of Karthene's Stonebinding Scepter and other Epochal Artifacts challenged the historical narrative that elevated the Myrdinn legacy. Their rivalry was both public and personal: Iomyna stood for continuity, prestige, and the forward authority of the League’s great houses, while Cymbeline pressed the Council to confront uncomfortable truths about inherited power and the consequences of secrecy. The tension between them defined much of the political theater of the Court, as each sought to shape the League according to her vision of legitimacy and influence.
