Gorli Glumfall

The purveyor of Glumfall's Luxury Tavern, Gorli was a deeply untalented Dwarven Wizard-turned-merchant who had been chased south after not paying back debts in Brazenthrone. He disappeared from the dwarven kingdom for years, hiding in various Common League towns. Once he was sure his debtors had forgotten him, then emerged in the far-off city of Cliffsunder; the former merchant decided to open up a new business, one that did not rely on magic and expensive Spell Components.

Despite his shady character, he once again became marginally wealthy after purchasing a rotting old tavern with stolen gems. He operating the business using a seedy business model, with accommodations high in price but abysmal in quality. Though he gained a poor reputation around the Grandport, he ensured that patrons filled his tavern and beds by combing the wealthier streets around the Cliffsunder City Square late at night. He would find inebriated individuals, especially those who clearly had nowhere to turn, and convinced them to pay extortionate prices for a bed.

Gorli's name was well-known amongst the thieves of Lower Cliffsunder, and many would coerce the dwarf into favors. One such individual was Nessa Nina Quickpick Rumbauld Pennyluck, the legendary Rogue of the Whistledrop Crew, who strongarmed him into giving her grandson Merben Ordri Fizzlehide Pennyluck a job. Gorli set Merben to work at the Luxury Tavern, mopping floors and scrubbing dishes while telling him to stay out of trouble.
