Tessa Nicoleva

A sweet red-haired girl native to Vallaki, Tessa was always seen with her misshapen doll, purchased by her father from Gadof Blinsky. Due to the colour of her hair, she was considered to by a symbol of bad luck by other people in Barovia. Her parents, who were addicted to Dream Pastry, left her at Saint Andral's Orphanage when they realized they could not provide for the girl.

Tessa was close with Zaharia Lucivich before the boy was killed after falling from his window, and grew quieter after his passing. She reported having dark dreams, and bruises continually grew down her shoulders; she did not know this, but these wounds were caused by an exposure to a darkness harbored inside another orphan.

Curse Of Strahd

In Curse Of Strahd, Tessa was examined and healed by Shakti of the Wildhunt, and informed Pack of the strangeness of Felix Zsoldos. After they took care of his Shadow Demon, she remained at the orphanage until her mother took her back, then sold her for more dream pastry to Bella Sunbane.

The girl was rescued by The Pack at Old Bonegrinder before the Night Hags there baked her into pastry, but found getting over her trauma difficult. This was not helped by later conversations with Shakti of the Wildhunt; while trying to help, the Shifter asked Tessa what flavour of pie she would be turned into, and caused her to cry relentlessly.

Curse Of Strahd Continued

Following the Riots Of The Blazing Sun, Tessa recovered from her harrowing experience, and began settling back into the orphanage. After the Silver Dawn Of Vallaki, she and many other orphans were enrolled in the new Fayan Academy, where she studied until the Slaying Of Strahd.
