In Curse Of Strahd, the twenty-seven-year-old had a revelatory experience; while patrolling the Sea of Trees, she spotted an uncharted Hill, and was surrounded by mists preventing escape into the forest. After some time, she ascended, finding a cairn and a dead tree, overlooking a beautiful white Castle. In a loose cairn, she found a Blood Spear, accompanied by the message that she was worthy of holding the weapon. As she grasped it, it turned to ash and blew towards the Vanishing Grove, leaving only a "Druid" Tarokka card behind. When she told her mother of the ordeal, Ylyana envisioned this to be a metaphorical prophecy involving Jarmo. She sent her to "fulfill her destiny" alongside the Giantborn, and was also accompanied by Ghalwin without the blessing of her parents.
Through the Vanishing Grove, they wandered through the mists into the dread realm of Barovia, where souls could never return. They quickly came into contact with the Vampire Count Strahd von Zarovich, who nearly killed them all before Jarmo successfully begged for their lives. Swearing to defeat Strahd and return to their homeland, the group began calling themselves The Pack after adopting a stray Dog named Lancelot. They were accompanied by the noblewoman Ireena Kolyana, who Strahd obsessed over, and looked to bring her to safety from the Village of Barovia.
Shakti found that her red hair marked her as unlucky in Barovian culture, and she was feared by the Human populace even more than Ireena due to her canine features. As a result, she covered her face and hair when she traveled whenever possible. At Tser Pool, Shakti underwent a Tarokka reading that told her vague descriptions of items and allies that would be needed to defeat Strahd. In this reading, she learned that the card she had found fit in perfectly to the Tarokka Deck. The spear she was looking for could be found at Yester Hill, where she could choose a future for herself while reconnecting a lost past.
Adventuring through this land lead to many hardships for Shakti, and she narrowly avoided several near-death experiences as she made her way to Vallaki. Once in the town, she found out the identity of the famed monster hunter Rudolph van Richten, a fated ally indicated in their prophecy. The Pack assisted in saving Saint Andral's Orphanage from a deceitful Shadow Demon, learned the secrets of the Keepers of the Feather, and became an ally of the noble Vallakovich and Wachter families. From the latter, Shakti also had her first-ever intimate encounter with the drunk nobleman Nikolai Wachter II, but quickly distanced herself from him. Ghalwin simultaneously did the same with Karl Wachter, but contrary to Shakti, he began to develop feelings for him.
van Richten joined them in a quest to find the bones of Lugdana Andral, as their removal from Saint Andral's Church had unconsecrated the land. This investigation hastened an insidious plot already in motion, ending with Vampire Spawn tearing through the streets of Vallaki and the arrival of Strahd within the Vallaki Town Square. Shakti could only watch as Strahd kidnapped Ireena and removed Jarmo's Dreamweave Circlet, turning her friend to stone. van Richten fled the scene, but left a note that the party could find him at Khazan's Tower; they also found that van Richten had been training a Saber-Toothed Tiger, who she adopted and named Shredder.
During this disaster, The Pack were supported by a wise cleric, Atlas Atruvian. Though Shakti mistrusted the sudden fortuitous arrival of a powerful ally, Atlas taught her how to deal with the tragic loss, and began accompanying her on their quests. Over time, Atlas helped Shakti in understanding her mother's religion and in contacting Mother Night; however, these visions resulted in terrifying experiences of brambles and body horror, so she quickly abandoned them.
She learned that the Wizard of Wines had been overtaken by Blights and dark druids, and she assisted in driving them out of the Martikov ancestral home. The forest-folk had stolen their last Gemstone of Life Growth, a gift to the family from the Ladies Three, which caused the vineyards to grow barren. Recognizing that the Ladies may be the ancients he swore his vow to, Ghalwin promised to retrieve all three of the family's stolen stones; indeed, the mission would take them to Yester Hill.
In the hill's cairns, she found the Blood Spear, and was granted a vision: her father had fought Strahd's armies there alongside the Blood Chief Kavan hundreds of years ago. She and The Pack chopped down Wintersplinter in a near-deadly battle and destroyed the presence of the druids there, but Shakti was left with more questions than answers. As they traveled back to the winery, she noticed that Ghalwin had begun changing. He had secretly made a pact with Yrrga, and her relationship with her brother began to strain.
Delivering wine to Krezk, The Pack found the Tome of Strahd at the bottom of Saint Markovia's Pool, the first item needed to defeat Strahd. They also met The Abbot at the Abbey of Saint Markovia, a crazed preacher who promised three miracles in exchange for a traditional Barovian wedding dress. Through Yrrga's power, Ghalwin saw that the man was actually a corrupted Deva, so agreed to the request despite his misgivings about The Abbot's plan. They also met the protege of van Richten, Ezmerelda D'Avenir, and the famed monster hunter agreed to travel with the group.
They went to Khazan's tower and rescued van Richten from a werewolf attack led by Kiril Stoyanovich; after defeating them, they learned he may have been distantly related to Shakti. The leader seemed to indicate that Jaghr's spirit was trapped in Barovia, and agreed to take her, but refused to allow the rest of The Pack to come. Though Shakti was desperate to find her father, they all agreed it was too dangerous for her to travel alone, so let Kiril go.
After a heated discussion with van Richten, an incensed Ezmerelda left the group to explore Argynvostholt, while the rest of The Pack went back to Vallaki to clean up their loose ends. With the help of Muriel Vinshaw, they rescued the Vistani seer Arabelle and returned her to Vistani Camp, and defeated the Night Hags of Old Bonegrinder, setting up a new base for the Keepers of the Feather. During these adventures, Shakti made an effort to again contact Mother Night, and found that she had actually been always communicating with the Dark Power Zhivris. Zhivris occasionally provided protection to her through his power of rapid plant growth, but she refused to form a pact with him, having seen what was happening to Ghalwin.
Vallaki was a town at the edge of revolution, and The Pack participated in the Riots of the Blazing Sun, allowing Fiona Wachter to take control of the town. They could not stay to defend the town or their good names, however, as Atlas learned through sending magic that both Muriel and Ezmerelda were in danger. Forced to make a choice, they knew Muriel was closer and actively in danger, so rode to the swamps of Berez.
Disaster awaited them in the mire. Baba Lysaga kept Muriel in her Creeping Hut, and so Shakti and Atlas chose to sneak up to the cottage as Ghalwin and van Richten drew the witch's attention. Ghalwin immediately offended her by invoking the poems of the Ladies Three, and she attacked with ferocity, immediately casting a powerful spell to blast the paladin's mind. The Creeping Hut, let loose in the marsh, brought low an exposed Atlas in a matter of seconds. Shakti took the form of an Air Elemental to destroy the hut from within, but could not do so in time before being almost killed by Lysaga.
With a last desperate attempt at survival, she healed Atlas and leapt from the hut, but fell into the swamp as it jerked. The witch cast a poisonous gas that destroyed her lungs, and she fell below the swamp water, choking to death. This action, however, was noticed by Jaghr of the Longtooth, protected from Vampyr by Telyth; as Shakti's body died, her soul followed her father to lands unknown.
