An exceptionally strong Werewolf based in northwest Barovia, Kiril was born to two werewolf parents in the Werewolf Den. Having been born "pure blooded" instead of being merely infected with Lycanthropy as many other den occupants, Kiril was a descendant of Jaghr of the Longtooth. Raised with a superiority complex, a trait only furthered by his natural aptitude in battle, he believed himself a scion of Mother Night herself.
Kiril not only had physical aptitude, but also had an ability to commune with the spirit of Jaghr, who the tribe referred to as the "Wolf-Father". Though he could only speak with him through cryptic messages and visions, he interpreted the Wolf-Fathers commands to live beyond mere subsistence living. He quickly rose to become the leader of the pack, dubbing himself "The Ravager", and lead small bands of werewolves and Wolves and Dire Wolves out on feeding missions. They typically picked off Human hunters, large game, or other wolves, but consistent food was difficult to come by in the Svalich Woods.
As The Ravager, Kiril lead hunts outside the walls of Krezk and Vallaki, terrorizing the citizens on the night of the full moon when the werewolves were most savage. He was against the rule of Strahd von Zarovich, but only expressed these sentiments near the edges of the Vampire lord's domain, where he could be sure that spies bearing the Mark of Strahd would not be listening.
