Ireena Kolyana

In Curse Of Strahd, Ismark encountered a group of strong adventurers, and he pleaded with them to take Ireena to safety in Vallaki. Ireena refused to leave until Kolyan's body was given a funeral at the Church of Barovia, which the outsiders assisted with. She traveled with the "Pack" of Shakti of the Wildhunt, Ghalwin Forrester, and Jarmo Maulgrave, eventually developing a relationship with the latter through their adventures.

Young and with little experience of foreigners, she was smitten by the intelligent and caring Giantborn, and the two learned how to protect eachother in dangerous situations. Fending off dangerous situations together, they eventually confessed their care, and shared an intimate night at the Blue Water Inn. But this love would prove their undoing; visible as it was, it reached the ears of Strahd von Zarovich.

The Pack would end up on a hunt to restore Saint Lugdana Andral's bones to Saint Andral's Church, ensuring the area was Consecrated and safe for Ireena to stay in. This resulted in an attack of Vampire Spawn in the Vallaki Town Square, where Strahd was summoned; he kidnapped Ireena through magical charm and stole Jarmo's protective Dreamweave Circlet, which turned the goliath to stone. On the back of Beucephalus, Ireena was taken to Castle Ravenloft.

The Pack took Jarmo's body to a hidden alcove in the church, keeping it next to Saint Andral's bones, but would ultimately be unable to save Ireena before their own dissolution.

In the high castle tower, Strahd attempted in every way to manipulate her, but Ireena's mind had already been "poisoned" against him. Eventually giving up on her as he had with many of Tatyana's other incarnations, he began resorting to constantly using his vampiric charm on her. Ireena became a fixture of his bedroom, rarely if ever leaving to consort with Strahd's spouses, and stayed a symbol of his despair and hate until the Vasilkan Wedding.

Strahd considered Vasilka to be an abomination, but was transfixed by the Flesh Golem. He had Ireena moved to the cold upper rooms of the North Tower as he obsessed over his new toy, nearly forgetting about Ireena. She was kept alive by occasional visits from Cyrus Belview and checked on by Strahd's minions; however, during this period, she became a target of Escher Chernykh, Strahd's oldest spouse. Without Strahd's obsession to protect her, Escher toyed with and abused Ireena for weeks.

Eventually, the Heralds of Dawn made their way to the tower, and released Ireena, defeating Wights and Swarms of Bats as they descended. Led by Ghalwin and Izek Strazni, who claimed to be her brother, Ireena was too exhausted and confused to do much of anything. She followed the Heralds as they fought their way down to Castle Ravenloft's brazier room, allowing them to teleport to Vallaki above the Coffin Maker's Shop. There, they prepared the town for battle as Ireena was kept safe in the alcove below Saint Andral's Church.

However, this battle would end in disaster, becoming known as the Red Dusk Of Vallaki as the Heralds hid alongside Ireena while Strahd ravaged the town. After the carnage, the group moved on to the castle, preparing to fight Strahd, but Ireena was in no shape to fight. They assigned Lancelot to guard her, and she stayed weeping alongside a petrified Jarmo until the Slaying Of Strahd.
