Start: 6th of Excitol, morning after the long rest in Qir'ellan'alak. Leveled up to level 9.
In the Mind's Eye Observatory, the Bill's Bimbos observed Xan'alith'alan's Clairvoyance on the library within Rathian Hall, and him observing CCTV footage of the library. Calliope rejoined the squad here. Nesdin made some allusions to his history, and confirmed that with Teleportation Circle, he could return to the Evocation School within Astralreach Academy.
At Rathian Hall, the Bill's Bimbos debriefed Azaetha Starstride on their experiences in Trennen Faedis. She thanked them for aiding Xan'alith'alan and showed them the Teleportation Circle room she wanted Nesdin to permanently establish such a circle in a chamber beside the library.Aoife Sweeney stayed to further study the Ends of Empyrean and Astral Dreadnoughts, while the rest of the team returned to Depthsong Tavern.
After her research, Aoife Sweeney and Liriel heard a thunderous boom from outside. In Bloodless Center, they found a small group of citizens congregating around a kobold's headless body which had just fallen in the square, along with a book a few dozen feet away. Aoife Sweeney retrieved the book, and found that the Kobold had its head exploded from a thunderous glyph from within the book. The rest of the Bill's Bimbos arrived and aided with investigating: Rohtagels spotted another Kobold hiding at he mouth of a nearby alley. They spotted one another, and a chase ensued. Aoife Sweeney, Arwa Hathspelt, and Rohtagels lost sight but followed their tracks to one of the entrances to the Kobold warrens. Inside, they found a dead kobold surrounded by 4 live ones, who were bickering with one another over the body. Aoife Sweeney and Arwa Hathspelt saw that the body had no brain inside, and that the kobold thieves were likely Intellect Devourers.
The Bill's Bimbos reconvened a the kobold warrens and went inside, looking for signs of the escaped Intellect Devourer. Farther inside, the warrens curved left, and they passed by dozens of kobolds digging, mining, and chatting. They reached a larger, two-tiered chamber in the far back with about a dozen oddly quiet kobolds mining away. The Bill's Bimbos approached, and one of the kobolds came up to confront. Hostilities quickly escalated as the kobolds revealed they were digging for a "secret mission" and weapons were drawn.
Meanwhile, Arwa Hathspelt had gone on her own to investigate the Orc neighborhood. When she got to the northern edge, by the outer cave wall, she encountered Rulfirm and Rulfarm. They pointed out the various holes which the kobolds had broken through from their caverns. She went to the last one and heard shouts from inside: the Bill's Bimbos in their standoff with the kobold miners. She Reduced herself and climbed into the hole, walking down to the bottom as the weapons were drawn.
End: 6th of Excitol, mid afternoon. Breakout of combat with the kobolds in the warrens: Aoife Sweeney at the back stairs, Calliope and Rohtagels facing off with the leader, and Arwa Hathspelt Reduced in the hole leading to the rear of Burub's hut.
