In Curse Of Strahd, Shakti and Jarmo were sent to fulfill a prophecy by Shakti's mother Ylyana, and were secretly joined by her half-brother, Ghalwin. During this adventure, they came up with the party's name, a representation of their closeness as well as a nod to Shakti's Lycanthropic background.

Members of The Pack came and left, a result of the incredible danger and instability of traveling in Barovia. Declaring themselves enemies of Strahd von Zarovich, they were briefly thought to be arbiters of hope. They took in many powerful allies, made contacts, and adopted virtually every helpful Beast they could find, but ultimately met an untimely end at the hands of Baba Lysaga. Only Ghalwin and a handful of their animal companions survived a disastrous encounter in Berez, and the group was disbanded.
