A guard employed by Vargas Vallakovich, Udo grew up in Vallaki and served the Vallakovich family for most of his life. Usually stationed as a guard around the town square, he was mild-mannered for a soldier of station, and generally somewhat hapless. Nonetheless, he did what he was commanded, wanting to only live a simple life. Udo was one of the few patrolmen responsible for maintaining the city when Vargas withdrew to his mansion after the attack of the Vampire Spawn, and the city's watch was spread thin.
When Fiona Wachter began stoking anti-Vallakovich amongst the townspeople, Udo was framed by a group of protestors. He confronted the group, who were chanting "Hi ho! Hi ho! The Burgomaster has got to go!" in the town square, but they quickly tossed a sign to him saying "All Is Not Well!" then scattered. Another guard found him holding the sign, and Udo was taken to Vargas, who tortured him in a hidden room in the Vallaki Burgomaster's Mansion. He was regularly interrogated by his former Captain Izek Strazni, but could not give any information as he was not actually part of the anti-Vallakovich protest.
