Session 37: Visions in Common

Keeper Sendara feels a chill in the air as the temperature drops, and despite climbing up a few steps from the basement of Renatus Hall, the top of the stairs was just as far away as it was before. The chill reminded her of encounters she had before with the undead. She returns to the workshop and grabs Tor'in, dragging him back to the staircase. He, too, feels the unnatural chill. Hand in hand, they begin to ascend the stairs, one step carefully at a time. 

From the top of the stairs, Alcor looked at them with confusion and asked what they were doing. Sendara briefly explains, and wonders if it's connected to her trying to reach out to the spirit of Niman Agerson or his gaoler. Tor'in asks Alcor to guard the workshop (making sure he puts on a Vigilant sash first) while he and Sendara leave to find the others.

They meet up with Amos on his way to work at the Tradefair Seat of Law. After joining Meriel, Ren, and Zarin, Sendara tells them all about her dream with Niman and Lotrad. Sendara is adamant about Niman receiving justice, especially after interacting more with his spirit. She tells them about how, in the dream, Niman talked about trying to close a way he had accidentally opened with his experiment. Niman said he stepped into another place, where the sky was filled with roiling clouds of myriad colors. This reminds Meriel of the disturbing dream she had involving the Singers. Tor'in pulls Amos aside and asked him if he also wanted to pursue justice for Niman, to which Amos agrees.

The group makes their way to the Necropolis. Almost excited, Sendara gives Ren a form. The form offers a reward to Ren in return for him donating his body to science. Sendara animatedly talks about the research opportunities because of his mixed ancestry, and Ren says he'll consider it. Sendara introduces the group to her superior, Shepherd Bisha.

Sendara washes and dresses in something other than her night gown. Meriel tells Bisha about her dream, but Bisha doesn't know of any such place in Keeper lore. While she is gone, Bisha thanks the group for spending time with Sendara. Leaving Bisha, they bring Niman's body to a private examination room. Tor'in and Ren both take a careful look over the body. Tor'in notes no external injuries, and Ren notices that the calluses on Niman's hands make him appear to be left-handed. The group discusses talking with Zarin or The Vigilants' Arcane Enforcement Division to learn more about the possibilities of necromancy. There is also a discussion of sharing Niman's notes with Albania or Zarin to see what they could discern.
