Session 072

September 30, 2024

Previous: Session 071; Next: Session 073

Start: 11th of Tamtir, evening. At the Innvisible Igloo, squaring up with Daisy Dewdown and Shegan.

Aoife Sweeney and the team helped talk Daisy Dewdown down from seeking out and being hostile with Calliope. She opened up, telling the party that she and Shegan were traveling east to escort a mage, who revealed himself from another room - Qafiali. He stated that he was traveling east and then south to Verdobe to look into a recent spike in missing magic items in the region (Fyrbak Desert). Daisy Dewdown conceded to sleeping under the same roof as everyone (except Calliope), and Bill's Bimbos ate Stanley Lumi's dinner with the Orcs.

The next morning, the 12th of Tamtir, the party left Duvonte and headed east ahead of Daisy's party. They purchased a pair of horses and trotted out of town into the dangerous snow forest region which guards Duvonte. For a week, they warded off dire wolves, dire bears, and owlbears. On the 19th of Tamtir, a pair of Frost Giants attempted to ambush the party, but were swiftly killed. Their companion dire owlbear was chased off and sent into the woods by Aoife Sweeney and Arwa Hathspelt.

After the fight, Paia trotted up, seemingly outside of her confines in the Wanderguard. It was at this moment that the party realized that Calliope and the Wanderguard itself were missing. No tracks were found but Crax Goobadink spotted a smoke trail to the northwest, and the party investigated. They found the remains of the Orc encampment of Shegan's tribe, followed their path northeast, and found them - 24 Orcs in a semicircle armed and ready, Shegan standing ready in the center, and Qafiali leaning against a tree while smoking far in the back. They talked, and demanded Calliope be returned. Shegan stated that they didn't have Calliope and that their group only listened to him and Daisy Dewdown. Hostilities rose, and Daisy Dewdown appeared out of invisibility with Calliope erupting from the stolen Wanderguard. Daisy Dewdown's lute transformed into a crystalline mace - Swansong, adapted to a mace her. Combat ensued - the Orcs put up a decent fight, but Shegan was exploded and 9 more Orcs fell before the remainder fled or were released.

Daisy Dewdown had a crazed focus towards killing Calliope, but was knocked out. Calliope tied restrained her and retrieved Swansong, immediately revitalizing their connection and reinstating The List with their attunement. Aoife Sweeney attempted to separate the two to no avail. Qafiali created his Magnificent Mansion and the party tied of Daisy Dewdown and threw her into it before Rohtagels and Calliope finished the job and murdered her after most of the party agreed to keep her alive (Tar Runo and Rohtagels objected).

The party continued their trek, warding off wild encounters and arrived on the outskirts of Draakbarrow in the afternoon of 1st of Venusta. After their 400 mile journey taking 141 hours (17.5 days, slowed to 3/4 speed given terrain so 3mph on average, slowed 1 day after Daisy Dewdown encounter), the ancient settlement sat low at the base of the mountain, Blind Claw. On a nearby tree, an old wanted poster showed a sketch of an extremely dangerous man - a Halfling with an eyepatch over his right eye, Otto Ozzley (Unknown).

End: 1st of Venusta 1113 GE, early afternoon. On the outskirts of Draakbarrow, observing a wanted poster describing a halfling that looked remarkably like Otto Ozzley with an eyepatch over his right eye as an extremely dangerous individual.
