Session 085

January 20, 2025

Previous: Session 084; Next: Session 086

Start: 15th of Venusta, midnight, aftermath of the Unknown and the beginning of Emergence. Bill's Bimbos, with Calliope's body, were at the top of Aile Blanche Tower having defeated Cygnus Klief and releasing Chanrea Mellorius.

The group settled down, talked with Mico Piko, and left the Aile Blanche tower (with Aoife Sweeney stealing a few choice books from the library within). Passing through the interrogation study, Rahadin was nowhere to be seen, which Mico Piko seemed somewhat concerned about but rushed off to find where he'd been relocated to (he escaped once Cygnus Klief's magic dissipated). Heading downstairs, they saw the party still in full swing, the participants unperturbed by the beam of green light (now dissipated) as they were enraptured by the fireworks show. Bill's Bimbos rolled Calliope's body into the portable hole and found some communal beds in the college and rested.

Awakening on the morning of the 16th of Venusta, Burnie Hathspelt returned to Arwa Hathspelt having escaped around the time of the Cygnus Klief fight away from the danger. He seemed excitable and rowdy, and she and the party followed him outside. There, a large crowd was gathered outside of the temple of Migneus, many seeking hangover cures. Dowlich Emberspell was addressing the crowd, but was nervous and unsure. Arwa Hathspelt used Thaumaturgy and got the attention of the mob, creating an orderly line for those recovering from the Unknown.

Old Amber Frostlight approached the group, introduced herself, and her, Dowlich Emberspell, and Bill's Bimbos all entered the temple of Migneus. There, they confirmed what Mico Piko hinted at: that resurrection magic was not working with the fractures in the Ends of Empyrean, and Calliope and Lumina Emberspell were unable to be brought back by typical divine means. Arwa Hathspelt took a detour around the temple to the burned down fireworks shed - Burnie Hathspelt seemed to love it. Dowlich Emberspell was confused and distraught, while Old Amber Frostlight was heavily in denial. Dowlich Emberspell suggested that the Meadow of the Flock could have issues, and recommended they confer with the local priest of Duxen on the matter, so they went to Raeherd's modest church on the outskirts of town.

Raeherd was quiet but concerned, stating even more of a disconnect with his patron, Duxen, and a cessation of transit from the mortal realms to the Meadow of the Flock. As such, any individuals who'd died after the fracturing of the Ends of Empyrean during the Unknown did not transition their. Instead they were likely sent higher in the Tower. After some discussion about the various circles there, the group landed on the Iron City of Dis and Malebolga as the best guesses for where Lumina Emberspell and Calliope went, respectively. Old Amber Frostlight was in denial, but still offered to accompany Bill's Bimbos into the Tower to find their friends' souls. Dowlich Emberspell passed out some healing potions, Nesdin used the Cubic Gate, and the group plane shifted to the Iron City of Dis.

Appearing in the hot, fiery exterior of the Iron City of Dis, Bill's Bimbos approached the outer wall. They turned invisible, and flew over the wall, avoiding the flying devils and entering the city proper. Coasting through the city, undetected, they came followed Stinky to an information broker in the city: the Metal Whisperer, run by the Abishai (Fiend) Vaerzel. They went inside after killing 2 Infernal Knights who were fighting outside, demoting them to imps, one of whom was killed again by Calliope. Going inside and inquiring about the whereabouts of Lumina Emberspell and Calliope, Vaerzel agreed to tell them their locations if the group could kill the outsider who came into the city, Olizan. The party headed out, towards the Iron Stake to find this Olizan.

End: 16th of Venusta, midday (several hours in Tower). Bill's Bimbos with Old Amber Frostlight navigating the Iron City of Dis, pursuing Olizan in order to gain information about the souls of Lumina Emberspell and Calliope.
