Previous: Session 096; Next: Session 098
Start: 8th of Flosculus, waking up in the wine cellar of Tilted Tower with Ronin and Inazious the Inebriated. Morning of the Hydra Collective's ritual to repair the Ends of Empyrean.
Preparing for the day in the wine cellar of the Tilted Tower, Calliope scooped 2 dozen random, unidentified potions and Bill's Bimbos skedaddled. They Teleported to Threads by Peche, where they were teased with a very expensive Carpet of Flying and then quickly exited.
Flying up Solithar's Spire, the party snuck up towards the gathering of wizards and observed them for a little while. Ronin and Calliope boldly approached first. They met the members gathered, listed below. They talked with Liora Gentavar and Magnus "Johnson" Thaumalor primarily.
After saying they beat up Caen Zauber and knew Qafiali was evil, Bill's Bimbos were invited into the discussion about what to do next: whether to attempt to repair the Ends of Empyrean to return to the previous status quo and deal with Mother independently or to attempt to continue the damage and shatter the Ends of Empyrean so as to allow the Diviners back to directly aid wit Mother. Many good points were made for both arguments - the Deities were an unknown element, and if they remained, conflict between the Diviners and Ryvers seemed inevitable. However, the immunity to typical magic, even that of the Hydra Collective, gave cause to seek divine power instead, as the Deities first quelled the elemental Titans of Al'tehrun.
Over the course of the discussion, Caen Zauber admitted to being in possession of the Infinite Scroll but it was stolen from his recently by Qafiali. He refused to elaborate on the other item Qafiali had hinted at stealing. Qafiali summoned the Infinite Scroll from his demiplanar hiding space, showing it to the envious group. Bill's Bimbos continued to convince the group of their side, aiming to avoid destroying the Ends of Empyrean. In pressing Caen Zauber, along with increasing pressure from the rest of the group, he was about to admit what he had, what Qafiali stole, when a clawed iron hand burst through his shoulder and tore through him. A construct of unknown origin had flown up in the storm and engaged with the group. A fight ensued, everyone focus fired on the first construct, and a second flew up on the other side of the circle and used Telekinesis to steal the Infinite Scroll from Qafiali. The first construct paralyzed Caen Zauber and then Ronin, which Calliope, Nesdin, and Nimbus rescued Ronin from falling. Rohtagels defeated the first construct (revealed to be a Simulacrum), and then moved to destroy the second (real one) just after Aoife Sweeney also used Telekinesis to rip the Infinite Scroll from its grasp. Both constructs were defeated, and the Infinite Scroll was bestowed upon Nesdin, while the Far Soul was given to Aoife Sweeney.
End: 8th of Flosculus, noon, flying above Solithar's Spire with the assembled mages and Hydra Collective about to decide what to do in regards to the Ends of Empyrean.
