Campaign: Silver Dreams

Main Quest

Game Style: Gritty Realism rules.

This variant uses a short rest of 8 hours and a long rest of 7 days. This puts the brakes on the campaign, requiring the players to carefully judge the benefits and drawbacks of combat. Characters can’t afford to engage in too many battles in a row, and all adventuring requires careful planning. This approach encourages the characters to spend time out of the dungeon. It’s a good option for campaigns that emphasize intrigue, politics, and interactions among other NPCs, and in which combat is rare or something to be avoided rather than rushed into.

The Quest for Rivermond

Campaign Premise

It's the year 913 of the 4th Age.
Orders from the Rivermond Capital have urged the Barons to assemble their Knights and Troops to fortify the border along the Khein Dynasty. Word from the Church told them about a possible invasion across the barren landscape known as the "Deahtly Frontier" just across the border. The Knights of Bellmond charged across the border in hope of demoralize the enemy forces however they charged straight into a well defended war camp, the charge was stopped in an instant and the fighting continued on foot. The losses were heavy on both sides however a handful of Knights managed to return home. It was a major blow to the Baron of Bellmond, his son however quickly put the blame on the Church who led his father to believe the enemy was on the march rather than being fortified. The Baron's hatred towards the Khein only grew while the son saw his father pass a point of no return. The Dynasty forces despite their losses saw it as a victory.

Meanwhile across the Dynasty Border, at a small fort called the Knight's Rest. The people were plotting a secret mission. An outlandish creature of metal and cogs has been prepared however not everything is as it seems. They lacked the skills to make sure the creature was working correctly and thus sought out the help of an artificer across enemy lines. Their kind are rare in the Dynasty and the closest one was in Rivermond. As they were waiting for them to arrive they looked for skilled people who could take part in the mission that would take them across the border into Rivermond.
