Tor'in went looking for Sendara at the Necropolis, but she was strangely not there. Shepherd Bisha told him where Sendara could be found in Rattlestone. Following her directions, Tor'in found a group of rowhouses nestled together, with smells of a traditional elven meal being cooked. The address he got from Bisha led him to the end house with a little garden in the back with a worn shed. He encountered an elven family inside, who directed him to the shed behind the house.
Sendara begrudgingly allowed Tor'in into her shack. There was a simple cot up against one wall, a stack of coins, and some books. There were no decorations or superfluous furniture anywhere inside. Tor'in told Sendara that they have something in common. He drew his sword, and laid it on the ground in front of them, spaced equidistant between the two. He touched the sword with one hand, and Sendara with the other. He explained that the sword once had a soul. It was once foul, but had since been cleansed. He guided her to his second sword, which evoked feelings of calmness, clarity, and a white light. Unlike the first sword, it did not feel warped. Finally, Tor'in set down the sword from the tomb of House Nimbria. Like the first sword, it felt impure. Sendara started to get imagery of the history, flashes of images and a sense of intent from generations of people who once wielded the sword. At first, the bond of the sword felt harmonious, but drifted into a dissonant note. It reminded Sendara of what she felt earlier in the tomb, how the sword felt more pure the further back she went through it's history.
Tor'in explained to Sendara that, as a Bladeservant, it was his duty to understand the intent and the craft behind that which takes life. The swords represented three of the extremes. When a blade is crafted with pure intent... that is the core of his oath. But the first sword was contaminated with an evil magic, and Tor'in's goal was to return it to it's rightful path. For the sword from the crypt, it is purified by returning it to it's bloodline and proper intent. Tor'in intends to find the original owners.
Sendara accused Tor'in of lying earlier. She said that she respected and trusted him, and although she did not say as much, felt hurt that he did not think she would help him. They made an agreement to consult one another on each other's areas of expertise.
