In the Murkmire Malevolence, Grendor was one of many guards working a gala night to show off the Murkmire Stone. Working the door, he unknowingly let various thieves enter under other guises, often being distracted by preaching from the Birdfolk cleric Matthew; he agreed with the cleric's ideas of "Torm", not realizing that they were talking about the same god.
The night dissolved into chaos after the appearance of Caelas Helefir and Ulre Helefir, and a subsequent heist attempt threw everything into further disarray. As he took down one of the thieves, Rasmus O'Dranith, he was speared through the neck by his magically-charmed colleague Clarc Pendergilt-Vanth.
