Rahadin

This character is dead.
Chamberlain

An unnaturally dexterous Elven Fighter of the Svalich Woods, Rahadin had always possessed a cruel temperament and penchant for disobedience. Though he was amongst the most powerful warriors of his people, his constant disagreements with his elders led him to finding few friends in the elves. He was made exile by other members of the elves' council for refusing to bow to royalty he did not personally respect; in return, Rahadin turned on his people and helped Barov von Zarovich put their royal line to the sword, then placed under Vistani watch. Barov rewarded Rahadin by making him an honorary member of the von Zarovich family; later, Strahd von Zarovich appointed him as chamberlain of Barovia.

Honored by the appointment and utterly charmed by Strahd, Rahadin completely changed his disobedient ways, and became a perfect steward to his family. When Patrina Velikovna came knocking on Castle Ravenloft's door, she attempted to seduce and tempt Strahd with dark knowledge of immortality at the Amber Temple. Rahadin believed her to merely be manipulating Strahd and attempted to break them up. He was unsuccessful, but Tatyana Federovna ultimately took Strahd's attention away from Patrina regardless.

Strahd's transformation into a Vampire in the Wedding That Never Was did not change Rahadin's disposition to his master. Instead, he proved himself incredibly useful to his lord on the battlefield, and his swords would ultimately deliver the killing blows to a number of the Mark of Strahd's enemies. This included the Blood Chief Kavan in the Desecration Of The Mountain Fane and Saint Alizandra Markovia in the Sunless March Of Saint Markovia; in addition, he had found the information needed to undermine Zachodgrad, as well as the true nature of the Silver Dragon Argynvost.

However, when Patrina once again came back to win Strahd's love, it was clear to Rahadin she did so for her own selfish needs. He thought she would share the same fate as Strahd's other brides, and entertain him for a while but ultimately turned into Vampire Spawn. She did not live to see such days, being stoned to death by her brother Kasimir Velikov and kin. In the Dusk Elf MassacreRahadin served as Strahd's punisher to the dusk elf race, slaughtering all the female elves and slicing off Kasimir's ears in retribution.

Hated by his people, the elf acted both as chamberlain and assassin for Strahd, especially after the death of Tasha PetrovnaAs decades became centuries, he slaughtered countless innocents in service of Barovia, and the lands's dark magic influenced Rahadin's very being. The screams of thousands of voices could be heard within ten feet of him, a choir which drove the weak-minded to madness. He kept the company of a Shadow Demon in the corners of his office as a guard, and was generally avoided by his Mortalkind employees of the castle, such as Lief Lipsiege and Cyrus Belview.
