Viktor Vallakovich

This character is dead.
Baronet

The Baronet of Vallaki, Viktor was the son of the Baron Vargas Vallakovich and Baroness Lydia Petrovna. Inheriting his title through his Vallakovich heritage, as well as his family estate in the Vallaki Burgomaster's Mansion, he was born with a troubled mind; unknown to him, his own lineage was the cause of his madness, due to a cursed deal made by Vyacheslav Vallakovich centuries beforehand. Ill-tempered, sadistic, and often unwashed, Viktor was known throughout the town as a recluse. He possessed little of his father's political will but much of his awkwardness and distain for others, only ever socializing during Vallaki's mandatory festivals. At home, he treated his servants poorly, and his mother even worse, though he avoided Vargas whenever possible.

Rumours about Viktor swirled when he was set to be engaged into the Wachter family for political strength, despite his protests. During their courtship, his fiancee Stella Wachter became increasingly insane. Eventually, the marriage was called off, and few members of the village had since seen either of the two; it was believed that Viktor had sad such unkind words to Stella that she became fully mad herself. The truth, however, was far darker, as he detailed in Viktor Vallakovich's Journal.

As a child, Viktor had come into possession of a Spellbook that Vargas had confiscated from a Wizard adventurer, Xana Habblegabble Goldworthy. Though mad, Viktor was intelligent, and spent years in his room uncovering and practicing book's magical language. Eventually, he became proficient enough to begin to test the book's many illusory and enchantment Spells, but did not want to reveal his secrets to the many eyes in his household. When Fiona arrived, he mistakenly cast a spell on her, but found her to be a useful subject. He repeatedly inflicted magical fears, charms, and domination effects, before partially wiping away her memories; eventually Fiona's mind was broken to the point that she thought herself to be a Cat.

Viktor's ultimate goal was to escape Vallaki using a teleportation spell. He attempted many variations of a Teleportation Circle, but he found the magic difficult to manage; on the full moon, he would send a different staff member or villager through the circle, often with bloody or messy effects. In between full moons, he covered the circle with a rug to hide evidence of his misdeeds.
