In Mystery Of Wistimere, Mayor Perceval LaPall's call for adventurers drew Valant to Wistimere, where he became wrapped in the conspiracy. After hearing tales of a Lycanthrope in the forest and Elf Zombies attacking the town, he put all the rumors together and believed a forest Werewolf was causing Zombie Rot with her bites. He commissioned gold plating on his flail from Ebbek's Mercantile, believing it necessary to kill lycanthropes. After later finding out that he had wasted his time and money, the Paladin instead commissioned Ebbek Grennruk to silver his Masterwork longsword, which the Dwarf smith was happy to do.
In the meantime, Valant got caught up in the adventures of the Vermin, who he initially made enemies with, believing Lola Windwisper to be the forest witch he was after. However, after he was rescued by the party from a Troll attack in the woods, he became somewhat grateful to the party, though still arrogant and disrespectful. Lola realized that if Valant were to find the truth about Luana Yinshera, he might use his silvered sword to kill her; so despite recognizing that he had caught zombie rot, the Druid kept her word to herself.
The rot would end up killing Valant later in that day, causing a small stir in town. Mayor Perceval acted quickly, taking Valant to his tunnel below Manor LaPall for experimentation. Meanwhile, the Vermin had posed as Valant and purchased his silvered sword from Ebbek under false pretenses, with Valori now wielding it. They confronted LaPall below his manor, and near the end of the battle, Perceval released the zombified-Valant from his cage; however, he died from Auberon's flames soon after, and was shot to the point of destruction by Vesper.
His body was burned in Wistimere, alongside many other elves and humans who had been infected by the rot. His golden armor and silver sword were worn by Valori, who ironically had been Cursed with Lycanthropy over the course of the conspiracy.
